Latin American women are affected by intersectional layers of discrimination based on gender, ethnic background, and nationality/legal status. To respond to these complexities we believe that service provision needs to go hand in hand with effective and bold policy, advocacy and campaigning work that focuses on women’s rights, migrant’s rights, and the rights of ethnic minorities in the UK.
We favour a collaborative approach and participate along with key stakeholders in relevant forums, networks and coalitions working at the local, national, and European levels. Find here the full lists of the advocacy groups we participate in.
As part of our work towards bringing more visibility to the issues affecting Latin American women and their families, we commission and collaborate with academic, governmental and other agencies’ research on issues such as domestic violence, trafficking and exploitation, access to services and welfare, and developing the profile of the Latin American community. Find the list of research and reports here.
We are not alone in the struggle, we have a strong, politically engaged community campaigning with us. Take a look at our latest campaigns around women’s rights, migrant’s rights, and the rights of ethnic minorities in the UK.
