LATIN AMERICAN WOMEN’S RIGHTS SERVICE (LAWRS)

Counsellor/Psychotherapist (Portuguese Speaker)

Two days per week (14 hours per week)

Salary: £28,050 (pro-rata)

Fixed term ending March 2019

 

 

We are seeking a Portuguese speaking Counsellor/Psychotherapist for Anahi, LAWRS’ Counselling and Psychotherapy project which offers a women-centered and culturally specific service in Spanish and Portuguese for Latin American women survivors of violence against women and girls (VAWG).

The Portuguese speaking Counsellor/Psychotherapist will provide individual therapy, undertake crisis interventions and clinical assessments for women using the service, and will carry out a one to one therapeutic caseload with Portuguese speaking Latin American women. The Counsellor/Psychotherapist will also contribute to develop our Portuguese-speaking client base, organise and deliver workshops and therapeutic groups.

You will have an excellent command of Portuguese and English; a professional qualification in psychotherapy; experience providing individual therapy; an excellent understanding of the issues facing Latin American women in London and in particular survivors of VAWG, experience in designing, running and delivering workshops and a commitment to promote and uphold women’s rights. You must be BACP registered, and accredited or working towards accreditation.
