Housing, Money and Debt
We provide general information, advice and casework on the following areas:

  • Possession
  • Homelessness applications
  • Harassment & Illegal eviction
  • Tenant's rights (private and public)
  • Rent arrears
  • Legal aid entitlement
  • Benefits including Housing, Council Tax and Working & Child Tax credit
  • Means and non-means tested benefits
  • Money and debt issues

Housing and Advice for the Elderly (in partnership with LAEP)
Principally delivered at LAEP through weekly surgeries, the project assists older people facing housing problems. We advise the elderly on, and work with housing associations to, develop practical solutions to elderly Latin Americans' housing problems.

Counselling (Anahí)
The service offers a secure, relaxing space and the opportunity to reflect on our personal experience and circumstances. Counsellors offer support to examine the root of emotional problems and orientation to understand and overcome them. We offer group and individual therapy, and workshops. Our experience covers areas such as:

  • Domestic Violence
  • Relationship breakdown
  • Loss and pain
  • Stress Management
  • Confidence
  • Dependency
  • Cultural conflicts
  • Sexual orientation
  • Family conflict
  • Depression

Business Advice
We may help you to develop your own business or entrepreneurial project through:

  • One-to-one business advice sessions
  • Workshops providing information and advice about
    self-employment, business start-ups -- for the upcoming sessions please refer to Events & Courses
  • Practical support through a referral system with specialized agencies
  • IT packages in English and Spanish to develop your business plan

Domestic Violence Prevention
We offer advice and support to Latin American women who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence. We deal with cases holistically, and refer them to specialist agencies known to us, and to our own projects. The project also seeks to educate our community on all aspects of violence within the family to help in preventing domestic violence. More…
