Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Manager

VAWG Manager Job Description)

Part time: 28 hours per week

Salary: £30,100 (pro rata)

LAWRS’ Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) holistic programme supports women survivors of VAWG (e.g. domestic violence, sexual violence, harmful practices, trafficking for sexual exploitation, etc.) into safety and protection and in rebuilding their lives free from violence.

We are currently looking to appoint an outstanding VAWG Manager, who will lead LAWRS VAWG team in accordance with service standards, recognised good practices and legal requirements. The postholder will also provide advice, support and advocacy for Latin American women victims and survivors of gender based violence ensuring that service users constantly receive the highest quality service.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and organisational skills, an understanding of the key elements of high quality advice standards, and a commitment to foster empowerment and independence of service users.

The main accountabilities of this post include:

  1. To oversee all the aspects of the VAWG service at LAWRS, ensuring that service users receive an effective, efficient, and high quality service, and that delivery targets and contract requirements are met and evidenced in adherence with LAWRS standards, policies and procedures.
  2. To support Latin American women victims/survivors of VAWG and their dependants, especially those at high risk, through appropriate advice, information and advocacy services.
  3. To lead, manage, develop and motivate the VAWG team.

You will have an excellent command of English, and Spanish and/or Portuguese. This post is open to Latin American women only in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. We encourage applications from disabled and LBTQ+ women.

No Limits Project Coordinator

(No Limits Project Coordinator – Job Description)

28 hours per week

Salary: £28,475 per annum pro rata

3-year contract

LAWRS’ No Limits Projects (Sin Fronteras) is a creative arts-based project for Latin American girls and young women (LAGYW) aged 14 to 21. The project provides a safe space for LAGYW who are facing severe disadvantage due to intersectional inequalities. This holistic programme provides participants with support to address needs and overcome barriers. It also offers opportunities for developing existing and new skills, as well as exercising critical thinking on issues that matter to them through the use of arts and campaigning work. The ultimate aim of this project is to enable participants to empower themselves and each other to seek the change they want to see in their lives, communities and wider society.

We are seeking a Project Coordinator with a passion for working with young women to develop, manage and widely promote “Sin Fronteras”.

The main duties of this post include:

  1. To outreach to the most isolated groups of LAGYW.
  2. To develop, manage, and run No Limits’ dedicated arts and educational programme for young women.
  3. To engage participants in activities to develop leadership and action for change.
  4. To ensure LAGYW access the services and support they need to address educational, emotional and wellbeing needs
