What we do
LAWRS offers advice, advocacy, information and counselling services to Latin American women living in the UK. We also run trainings, workshops and ESOL classes. All our services are free, confidential and in Spanish and Portuguese. A crèche facility is available for users with young children.
We prefer that women refer themselves to our services. Professionals and public services can also refer clients to LAWRS’ services.
Information, advice and casework on all issues related to housing conditions and homelessness; and welfare benefits (incl. Housing, Council Tax and Tax credits).
Support, advice and information for women business owners and those who are or would like to become self-employed. We can help in many areas, including marketing, business planning, finances and tax returns.
Specialist advice and advocacy for older people facing family, housing and care problems, especially money management, care support, independent living, neglect and abuse. You can visit us in LAEP on Tuesday mornings and in LAGYC on Tuesday afternoons.
Guidance and orientation in where and how to apply for decent employment in the UK, including guidance and training on writing CVs, job applications and how to prepare for interviews.
One-to-one brief therapy sessions, group therapy and crisis interventions for women primarily who have experienced gender abuse, violence, trauma, separation or loss. We also run brief therapy sessions for women going through problems at work and money problems.
Advice, casework and advocacy and support to Latin American women who are experiencing or have experienced violence and abuse. We deal with cases holistically, have a network of specialist agencies known to us, and several services to support women survivors.

Our clients can get advice without appointment every MONDAY from 10 am to 1pm.
English Classes
Classes are free for Latin American women beginners.
Timetable: Every Wednesday and Thursday from 10:30am - 12:30am and 1:30pm-3:30pm
Upcoming Training Sessions
LAWRS also provides useful workshops, tranining sessions and talks for our users and members as a way of supporting our advice and guidance services and they are all FREE
